There is not really anything on MV in terms of luxury hotels and quite honestly not very many hotels at all for a vacation island. MV is very much a house rental destination not a place for resorts. I have never stayed at Winnetu, but I have never thought of it as much of a luxury place.

I grew up in the area and spent and now spend my time on the Cape as opposed to the Islands, so there may be others with more thoughts on the Winnetu.

Are you stuck on going to the Vineyard? The Wauwinet on Nantucket is fantastic, and even Wequassett on Cape Cod is a very good luxury option in a great setting on Pleasant Bay and close to Chatham.
