I did the ex EU because it saved me about £530 over BA direct to JHB, and that's after the mishap!

I'm more disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy my 2A seat and the BA lounge before.
I'm even more disappointed that my planned night out in BCN didn't happen.
As a FT member I'm heartbroken that I LOST THE MILES AND THE TIER POINTS, as I am bronze on the verge of Silver but now it's not happening as soon!

I know there were at least 7 other passengers similarly affected by the trains.
One very interesting young Spanish couple decided to abandon their single suitcase, put everything into their hand luggage and run for it! I really hope they made it!

BA suggested that I do something similar as without my 2 bags, I might make it! Unfortunately as I have arthritis I'm not able to move as quickly. My bags were definitely not full with total weight 22kg, but they were full of presents, so no I was not going to leave them behind!
