I will be checking in one suitcase. I also have a carry-on bag measuring 20" x 14" x 9". Can I take that on the aircraft, or will it have to be gate-checked? I'll be travelling first class, if that makes a difference.

Would I be better off taking a smaller carry on bag? I have another one measuring 16" x 13" x 8".
