Mmm? So there are two errors I made here:

1) Making certain that my booking was done before the end of 28th, UK time.
2) Making sure I chose "peak" fares.

I had been looking for two CW seats LHR-JNB for some time, and suddenly last night two showed up (they are rare as hens teeth) and thats what made me pull the trigger.
I wonder if they were only made available after the 28th deadline because they fall under the new redemption rates?

Its a lot of miles far an upgrade.
