I don't think that UA itself will ticket anything where UA (or at least LH) isn't the first segment or at least some segment carrier.

Same thing for E+ vs. PE as E+ on UA is simply a premium seat and not a fare basis or fare class.

This is where a good and knowledgeable TA is worth the fee.
