Easy train from London Luton to the city center (St Pancras I think). I just did WizzAir Luton->Katowice (South of PL) and I'm seriously considering ditching *A on London route entirely.

I find MUC to be slightly preferable to FRA, but certainly not in the alarming way that you state. FRA is a much better airport than many, including LHR and CDG.
