I stayed here this weekend. I really liked it and was pleasantly surprised due to all of the complaints in this thread. Maybe the renovation is closer to being finished, but I found it up to my expectations.

Lobby was very nice, good bar
+Staff was professional and pleasant
+I used an SNA and got a huge suite on the 17th floor. Decoration and furnishing looked brand new, cool colors and textures. Great view of the skyline
+Bed was very comfortable
+Illy espresso machine in room
+Welcome note from VIP Services manager with cheese plate
+Lobby was very nice

Negatives
+Seemed like they were working on the suite above mine on the 18th floor...not bad, but some noises coming through.
+Overpriced parking for the area - $25/night for valet when there are lots for $8-$15 a day a block away (under the fairfield inn by marriott). The girl there actually charged me $8 and made m ea key for 4 days...i tipped her well.
+Shower stall was half enclosed with glass...somewhat silly design caused water to end up on the floor.

Other:
+did not have a problem with the location. Did not spend more than $5 on any uber rides in the area. The entire city is completely walkable from the LM. While true it's not right in the center of downtown, it's far from inaccessible.
+The Sheraton next door was equally nice
