So long as the brand standards are pretty much the same across a market, it doesn't really matter what they are somewhere else.
Do you have data to back this up? I am a US traveler, and I have never thought the dispensers were unhygienic. I don't like the dispensers, but that is simply because I prefer to use a bar of soap instead of liquid soap.
Oh, I see -- that wouldn't be accepted by the average American traveller... And here's your reason already: they need to adapt to the local customs, even if the local customs are environmentally damaging and cost more.
And where do you get it won't be accepted by the average American traveller? Other hotel brands in the US do use the dispensers.
