Second, if you are on one ticket with airlines with interline agreements, you should be able to recheck your bags immediately after you collect them.

Third, with that much time, I would get out of the airport. You should be able to get a good nights sleep in a reasonably priced hotel.... plus San Diego is a beautiful place in the evening. Don't waste that time by staying in a hotel.

If you are paying for your club entrance, that is even more reason to use that money on a hotel.
