Entree Gold is an hotel within the hotel. One checks in at the reception area which is either in or adjacent to the Entree Gold lounge. There are complimentary snacks and an honour bar as well as a what is called a "deluxe continental breakfast." I have stayed in the Entree Gold sections of most of the Canadian Pacific hotels in Canada and recommend them highly. My two favourites are at the Empress in Victoria and the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa.

Although most major hotel chains now have deluxe floors or sections, the Canadian National chain was one of the first to have such. When Canadian Pacific took over the remaining CN hotels, they replaced their "business class" with Entree Gold.
