As advised, it’s preferable to book separately. Unless your dates are set and want the protection a through ticket provides.
I think you could still make date changes, but only to the Iberia sector. Definitely not to the Vueling sector.
Thanks. For some reason It didn't occur to me to look at IB5XXX and realize that was the Vueling range of codeshares.
The only reason I'm asking/entertaining this is because I'm only getting the award availability I want with a married segment. What I mean is -
BOS-MAD, 3 pax, no business class space.
BOS-MAD-XXX, 3 pax, same date, business class available on both segments.
This is only showing on Iberia's site, not BA or any partners (nor does ExpertFlyer show additional space in the fare bucket). It's only working with a married segment, and it doesn't seem to matter whether it's IB or VY metal. It's just that the VY segment gives me a 2 hr layover vs the 6 on IB metal, but it seems like if I ever want to change/cancel, I better take the IB segment.
