Exactly. 4200 TYP are redeemable for $67.20 in AA tickets. 2800 miles at 1.7 cents/mile are worth $47.60. Now, if you need the miles for an upgrade or something else, the TYP won't do. However, if you are planning to redeem for flights, you will likely not get better than 2.4 cents/mile required to make 2800 miles = 4200 TYP. Again, if you have a lot of miles and need the 2800 to get a redemption, use the AA card. Otherwise, you are doing better with Prestige.
