We have an 8 hour transition between two flights in San Diego. Initially we thought we'd just crash in the Admirals, grab a bite and kill time before our 5am outgoing flight on another airline. Turns out we have to collect our checked bags when we land at 7:30p, then re-check for the next flight no earlier than 3am. Is it possible to just leave our bags "unclaimed" for the night, since technically they're already checked to their final destination, or will the baggage service desk not be open at the butt crack of dawn for us to reclaim them? Are we being insanely cheap, and should just get a hotel room for 6 hours? SD travelers, help me out!
