From someone who lives in L.A., it is best to get your hotel closer to the places you want to go. I don't really know the Marriott portfolio too well, but I know L.A.and long beach. If you stay at the residence in long beach, your commute will be about an hour each way to places like Hollywood, depending in time of day. If you take the metro, it'll be the same amount of time and L.A.metro is pretty terrible, especially the long beach blue line, you see some interesting characters and I mean very interesting. And the ri Anaheim to L.A. will be one brutal drive. The 5 freeway during rush hour, I would rather cut off my leg, and I really like my leg. Plus that freeway has construction right now in some parts.
