The Amex Platinum is not directly related, but you can do weird things with it. It has a $200 incidental reimbursement. You can create a United gift registry with your MileagePlus account. Use the Amex to put $200 into the registry. Amex will reimburse this automatically. You can then use the $200 as part of a payment for United Club membership. The other $200-$300 would come from another card that reimburses.
