Actually your previous request for college tuiton payments ideas inspired me to buy US Savings bonds with my click card. I have been buying up a storm. Of course my kid in just begining high school in the fall so I have a little time. College is 4 years. If you bought I bonds (paying 7.49% now for years 2,3 & 4 you would get a lot of tickets. Of course you have to have the money available now or at least 6 months in advance of needing it for tuition. You can't cash them before 6 months. If you cash them before 5 years, they deduct 3 months interest.
