Hello. As an update to everyone.
After 10 days of filling out my online cancellation request, I did not receive my refund nor re-deposit. I phoned them and was able to speak to an agent with less than 2 minutes on hold. The agent was able to re-deposit my Avios immediately and my refund of money should be done tomorrow. He indicated that there were some problems lately with the website specifically with refunds and their security team is looking into it, blah blah.
I am at least satisfied that a phone agent was able to help.
