I like window seats; in the day spotting interesting landmarks*. But most important to me, is the feeling of extra space--the inside of the plane "blends" with the outside. I will lower the shade 1/2 way if too much sun comes through--BUT
not close it entirely.
I was flying from LAS to JFK (my upg cleared), when I got to my seat, I noticed every seat had the shades drawn--except for my window seat, they must have known my preference.
