On a side note: from LIN to LHR 6-7 BA daily flights, plus a couple EZY to LGW, plus several AZ to LHR and LCY.
From MXP only 3-4 daily BA flights and the LGW/LTN from the EZY dedicated T2.

Forgot to add: The MXP express train is not so "express" and the traffic on peak hours is a nightmare. I usually travel BA from LIN to LHR about 20 times for year and is by far the best option if you are in Milan. I can only suggest MXP if you plan to visit the Expo.
