The points will be calculated using your status at the end of the stay, so it will work out all right.
However, I've noticed the status the hotel gets in the record is the one at time of the reservation. In the case your status changed, it seems necessary to show the reception your card at check-in.
Thanks for that, I always present card on arrival just to be on the safe side and have contacted hotels via email as requested by customer services and as a precautionary hint for my own purposes of course as well !
