You will get MQM of the distance between origin and destination. The extra due to layover will not be added.
If you break the layover it will reprice differently or ask for additional upgrade instrument.
Same with seat selection, you cannot select a seat for one leg and another for the next leg on these same flight number flights.
I would call DM line and implement HUCA. It has worked before and not worked before.
$5800 DTW MNL plus a upgrade instrument, ouch! CZ YYZ CAN MNL in J cabin was $4-4500 Cdn
Agree to all.
DL treats it as DTW-MNL not DTW-NRT-MNL therefore, seatmap is for DTW-MNL
The same goes with MSP-BKK or SEA-SIN, etc.
To escape this if you fly beyond through a different hub, (which on your case I dont think you can), you have to do MNL-NRT-MSP-DTW.
For 5.8k I think it is very steep. You could have got BE from non DTW for no more than 7k on Z class.
Hint: Next time try look for airport 50 miles away drive there and fly through MSP
