I used to be eligible for friends and family rate or child of associate (e.g. associate pleasure rate); however, my step-mother, who was a HR Manager at an RI, retired and I am no longer eligible. Back on topic for the thread, towards the end of my eligibility for friends and family rates, they were getting much harder to find. Even when I could find them the difference was frequently so minimal versus AAA or other general discount I am still eligible for, I stopped even trying to use them.
The associate pleasure rate was still very worthwhile and more prevalent. In any case, they went to an all electronic system for the eligibility forms. So bottom line, not that anyone should have been trying to scam the system in the first place, it would be exceedingly difficult to do so now.
