Agree with the other posters who said it was a supply/demand thing.

Either EVA or CI are running promo's to/from SFO, explaining why it's cheaper. Tickets to PVD, PEK, ICN and NRT are much more in demand than TPE, apparently. Plus CI is the Asian equivlant of a Corvair
