The price you paid is exceptional to say the least... I would sit in Y for 26 hours for that price.... especially if it was to a place I really want to see.

If you're interested, I just checked and United still has those fares available (I see you're located in Denver, apparently they have a similar fare from ORD as well). I'm going in January, but airfare seems to be cheap throughout that time on United from the US-DXB. Very excited - Dubai has been on my "Wander List" for years, finally get to go!
Just to add on - can anyone assist me in finding threads regarding last minute upgrades on United for non-elites? I searched for awhile now and haven't been able to find anything regarding this.
