How much do you think the upgrade cost would be as time gets closer, perhaps within 24 hours of the flight? Didn't know they lowered the price as time got closer. Then, depending on the price, I would consider an upgrade. 13 hours in Y will be tough, but for $631 RT, I'll deal with it!

It is anyone's guess what could happen at T<24hr ... I would think a lot depends on how many J seats are still available at that point. I have seen some really good deals ($900 to upgrade from J to F on a TPAC segment, for instance - I accepted and sat in 1A on the 744... my favorite seat), and some really bad deals ($3200 to upgrade from Y to J on a TATL segment - declined, needless to say). There is an entire forum dedicated to this conversation.
The price you paid is exceptional to say the least... I would sit in Y for 26 hours for that price.... especially if it was to a place I really want to see.
