I'm on a HNL run but with a 3 week holiday attached. In SFO and I just experienced my first US car hire rental. Bizarre really that you have the option of no insurance

Having been to the US many times and knowing that they have a love for liability claims I took everything. I rented a car for 4 days in SFO to go to wine country so it added $130 to the cost of the car which I arranged through costco.

I am going to HNL and KOA on Sunday for 10 days and don't want to be hit with the CDW/SLI excess again
Is there a way around this that will still cover you for everything?

I looked online and found some companies offering this type of policy for about £100 for the year.
Can you guys recommend one or help with what you guys do?
