If I'm going to have to take the subway to that stuff anyways, sounds like I should just stay at the PH; if I can actually walk places from the GH (and maybe come back in the middle of the day to rest), perhaps the GH is the way to go.

Appreciate everyone's advise.

Thanks.
I stayed at PH last month and had a great time. I personally think that PH is in a better location as it'd be more convenient to go grab a quick bite etc. at Coex mall/ Hyundai dept store food court if you don't get free breakfast at the hotel. Besides, it's located right in front of a subway station (Samsung station Exit 1, I believe).

However, I think it also depends on how many days you're staying in Seoul. If you're only there for one or two days, it'd probably be better to be staying at north of the river than in gangnam. If you're there for three or more days, where you won't be too rushed to do touristy stuff, then definitely PH. We did touristy things (visiting palaces, Insadong, Hongdae area, Dongdaemun market, etc.) everyday and going to the north side via the subway was not a problem.
