Points Sent To Wrong (New) Account

Ok, when my sign up bonus points didn't show up after a month, I called Chase CS to ask why. The CSR said "it can take 6 to 8 weeks for them to post". I could see on my cc page that the "miles have been sent to BA", so I didn't worry. But today it had been over 2 months, and no miles had arrived in my BA account yet. So I called Chase, and the CSR said to check the BA # on the front of the card. I didn't realize that number was on the front of the card.

Of course, the number was wrong. Somehow Chase had apparently set up a new BA account for me, and the miles were sent to that account. So no, it doesn't take 6 to 8 weeks to post.

The CSR was both very nice, and quite apologetic. Chase is going to contact BA and combine the 2 accounts, and send me a new cc with the correct (original) account # on it.
