More seriously, I agree with everything written. The question of whether AA will reimburse incidental costs in the event of a schedule change is a very, very frequently asked question and the answer is "no".

Just to add, if you do decide to cancel the AA ticket and book with someone else, the fee would be waived.

Also, July is still a ways off, and there's some chance the schedule will change again, next time in a more favorable direction.
