OK, so the flight is oversold. This happens all the time. Some of the pax won't actually be on the flight (won't show up, or will misconnect, etc.). You should have your J seat.
I wouldn't worry about it until you are actually given a boarding pass that isn't in J. Not a departure management card, but an acutal boarding pass with a Y seat assignment on it.
