I, like others, made SE100k earlier this year. I now find myself looking to book my next half dozen int'l paid J trips (for the next 8 weeks) and I feel that any incentive to fly AC (from a FF program perspective) is gone.

The only 'benefits' to be received is the continual collection of AE miles and a paltry 20 e-upgrade credits for every 40k AQM, which frankly is a complete joke.

I almost feel incentivized to fly the other carriers that I'm periodically on to earn top tier in those programs (QR, EY, KL, KQ) as I feel like AC doesn't care about me. For my Asia flights I really see no reason to not fly CX now.

Honestly I guess I feel let down by AC that they don't do something more for those of us who can direct large sums of money towards whichever airlines we want. My next 2 months of travel is a relevant sum...between $35k and $48k by my estimate. Remainder of the year likely $100-200k.

Yes, I realize that AC is a business and they are out to make money...etc etc and yes I fully realize that the above is obvious....just saying I'm surprised that AC doesn't care.
I know I am late to the party, but here is my 2c:

Re: 20eUp/40K: 20eUp is enough for 1way TPAC eUp from PE to J? for every 2 J TPAC R/T you do, you get 1 free upgrade (so its like, buy 4 J one-way tickets, get the 5th one upgraded for free), not a "terrible" deal per say. But I do get what you mean.

But TBH, if I was an AC FF that accumulated more than 200K AQM per year, this is what I would do:

-Fly AC/*A until I get to 100K
-Fly any airline I want after that, with maybe a skew to OW airlines.

If you have status with both *A and OW, you can pretty much fly any decent carrier you want and have meaningful status with any of them (except the stupid KLM/AF shenanigans).

You have the potential to basically become a FF with no restriction on who they want to fly with. So why be upset that AC gives no incentive to fly past 100K? They are the ones losing out in the end... Unless you have some kind of (warranted?) obsession with getting to 3MM status with AC...
