Is there something I'm missing here? I can modify each leg or cancel the whole trip, but I'm not seeing an option to cancel one leg. If I cancel the whole trip, I'll have to re-book the other leg separately in a higher-priced bucket.

This would make sense if there were round trip discounts. But there aren't, are there?

Should I always be taking the time to book two 1-way trips instead of a round trip? This would give me the flexibility to cancel in the future if I'm deciding to take another mode of transportation one way... it seems there is no positive to booking a roundtrip other than saving a minute in booking one trip instead of two.
That is the only advantage. There is no "round-trip" discount.
