For those who dread the 757, some hearsay. I flew back to LA next to a lovely off-duty FA who mainly works LAX to Hawaii routes. She said the crews have all been training on the A319, A320 and A321 and that they expect to be flying them sometime in August.
Whether this is good or bad depends on the seat type and configuration, and personal preference, I suppose. I wouldn't expect transcon standards, particularly as AA don't really make money on the Hi routes. I don't actually dislike the 757 (in comparison to other planes without lie-flats). I'm not all that fond of the thinner cushioning on newer seats, and new seats always seem narrower to me, plus there are two (ish) F loos on the 757. However, I'm aware I'm in the minority and hopefully many of you might find this news quite pleasant.
Also, apologies if this is already well known and I've just been walking around in the dark because I don't fly to Hawaii often enough to keep up...
