I am trying to arrange an open-jaw itinerary that includes BKK-RGN and then MDL-SIN in August 2015.
Since it is really expensive to purchase that as a single PNR ticket (1274 USD), I have to cut it up into different segments. I was also hoping to book them as separate 1-way tickets as that might be cheaper using LCCs (Tigerair, AirAsia, etc.) on some legs. So I have 2 questions:
- It appears that it is NOT possible to buy online tickets for TG (or SQ) that originate in Myanmar. i.e. MDL-SIN one-way. Is there a way to book that via a Travel Agent? (I've started asking around, but not sure if at all possible.)
- If I purchase 2 different tickets on TG: BKK-RGN/MDL-BKK and then BKK-SIN: Would it be possible to join the 2 PNRs together so that MDL-BKK-SIN would be checked all the way through? I'm most worried about connections and delays, although TG isn't a LCC so it might be a bit better.
Otherwise, what other solutions are there? LCCs don't fly direct MDL-SIN, and transit via BKK (or DMK) using AirAsia or any other LCC (PG, TR, AK, FD, etc.) isn't that much cheaper.
