Identify this air carrier and the equipment it operated on the route and also name the aircraft type Swissair was flying from ZRH to LHR as SR 860. ANSWERED - But WHY was British Eagle operating a BAC One-Eleven on the ZRH-LHR route for Swissair?

15. During the winter ski season of 2007, this airline was operating daily round trip service between Seattle (SEA) and Aspen (ASE). One intermediate stop was made at the same airport in each direction. Identify the air carrier, the intermediate stop and the equipment.

Both of the following quiz items have a time line of the fall of 1994:

17. This airline was operating two daily, no change of plane flights from Newark (EWR) to Anchorage (ANC). Three intermediate stops were made en route by each flight and they were the same stops in both cases. The same aircraft type was operated on both flights as well. Identify this air carrier and all three stops in the order in which they were made and also the equipment.

21. You are in Dallas and have been invited by friends to spend a long weekend at their beach house near Panama City, Florida. You discover that one airline has direct, no change of plane jet service from DFW to PFN with two intermediate stops being made en route. Identify this air carrier, the two intermediate stops and the equipment.

26. It's the spring of 1985 and you are in Kingston, Jamaica. You need to fly to Miami first thing in the morning and discover that two airlines offer 7:00am departures on a daily basis as their respective first flights of the day from KIN to MIA. Identify both air carriers and the different equipment they operated on the route. And, oh by the way, depending on the specific day, one of these airlines operated two different aircraft types on their 7:00am departure with one type being flown six days a week and the other type being flown on the remaining day of the week. Air Jamaica (JM) operating an A300 or B727-200 and The Caribbean Airline Company (B8) flying a B737-200.

28. It's the fall of 1985 and you are in Corpus Christi. You need to travel to Amsterdam on business and discover that one airline claims they can get you from CRP to AMS on a direct basis with the service being operated with the same flight number. However, you then discover that you will have to change aircraft not just once but twice and also that a total of three intermediate stops will be made. And you will experience "change of gauge" at two of these stops. In addition, this "direct" service is only offered four days a week. Identify this air carrier, all three stops in the order in which they were made as well as the two airports where you will change planes and the three different aircraft types you'll be flying on.

30. It's yet another beautiful afternoon, this time on a Thursday in the spring of 1969. You are visiting with good friends on the windward side of the Big Island of Hawaii in the village of Hakalau. Preparations are underway for a gourmet, home made dinner and, of course, you've graciously provided the wine. Then the phone rings and it's for you. An urgent business matter has arisen and your presence is requested for a meeting as soon as possible in Miami. Much to your surprise, you discover there's a direct, no change of plane flight departing in the morning from Hilo (ITO) just down the coast road and better yet, first class is available. This flight makes one intermediate stop en route. Identify the air carrier, the intermediate stop and the aircraft type you'll be flying on. Partially answered: Braniff International operating a Boeing 707-320 with a stop at _______
13. Answered but with a subsequent question still remaining concerning this quiz item (paging WHBM)....

15. Delta Connection (DL*) operated by SkyWest with a Canadair CRJ-700 via a stop at Salt Lake City (SLC).

17. MarkAir (BF) operating two daily flights both with B737-400 equipment on the same routing of New York Newark (EWR) - Chicago Midway (MDW) - Denver (DEN) - Seattle (SEA) - Anchorage (ANC). And one of these flights continued on to Kodiak (ADQ). I think this was the only time in the history of the world that one could fly from the New York area to little ole Kodiak in Alaska without having to change planes. BF 401 departed EWR at 6:00a and arrived in ADQ at 3:55p......

21. Delta operating a B737-200 on a routing of DFW-SDF-ATL-PFN.

26. See answer above....

28. Believe it or not, Pan Am was operating B727-200 service into Corpus Christi (CRP) at this time (maybe that's why they went broke ) .

PA 2 operated with a 72S on a routing of CRP-DFW-JFK. There was an equipment change at JFK to a 747 and PA 2 continued on to LHR. Then there was second equipment change at LHR to a 73S and PA 2 continued on to AMS before proceeding to Hamburg (HAM) after the AMS stop.

30. Ah, the mystery stop.....here's the Braniff schedule....

BN 506: Honolulu (HNL) 9:00a - 9:45a Hilo (ITO) 10:30a - 9:25p Houston Hobby (HOU) 10:00p - 12:58a Miami (MIA)
Op: Fridays only
Equip: B707-320 Fan Jet (B3F)
Notes: No local or stopover traffic permitted HNL-ITO. No local traffic HOU-MIA; stopover traffic permitted for traffic originating in HNL or ITO.

I think it's safe to say this was the only time when Hilo and Houston Hobby had nonstop service. And the reverse routing from HOU to ITO and then to HNL flown by BN 501 actually originated in New Orleans (MSY) and not MIA.
