I like the D7200. Actually, I have a D7000, which is already a few years old technology. But buying it was a big upgrade over my earlier DSLR, a D80. The D7000 offered a MUCH faster "motor drive", a larger buffer size, front AND rear IR receivers, much better high-ISO and long-exposure performance, built-in horizon-level in the viewfinder and on the monitor, user-set custom functions on the top knob, and the ability to meter with non-AF lenses. Those are the features I value over the D80 besides the obvious new-camera technologies like more megapixels and faster autofocus.

The 7xxxx cameras are Nikon's top-of-the-line DX-format cameras. You'll find lots of features you didn't know you were missing over your D5000.
