HI tc flygirl. My information maybe outdated. I went to Istanbul in Dec, 1998. It was 300,000 lira to the dollar then. I had a hotel not far from Hagia Sofia, can't recall the name. I paid $30 a night, breakfast included. It was very clean. I would compare it to a nice IBIS. I booked it at the airport after arrrival.
