Generally, AC J fares are not absurd. If the cabin is close to full, they are high, but other than that, AC J fares are not that bad. Don't compare AC J fares to US airlines. Their J is more like PE. Preferred seat would help on 777HD only. Seat guru basically give the preferred J seat alreadly
