Thank you for your insight! I'm between a rock and a hard place because I booked the tickets through BA before the devaluation, and if I wait until then to wait for a route with superior meal service open up (AKA NRT-LAX), I won't have enough Avios. I've heard great things about the udon/ramen from others as well.
