I have to say that BA's policy in this regard absolutely sucks. I booked ex-DUB sale fares via a TA and unbeknownst to me the TA in question had not entered a specific key word which the system which recognised as having children in the booking. When it came to flight -5 a couple of weeks ago we had seats all over the J cabin on a 9 hour long haul. 25 phone calls later we eventually got a resolution but not until I had been around the houses several times. I think that BA fixed the keyword in the booking and somehow the system then managed to allocate seats.
I have an issue with this since BA do the bare minimum to help and put the priorities of those in genuine need below those with status and those willing to fork out an extra £600. Because of this I'm flying either AC/KL/LH the next time we go on holidays
Sounds like a TA change may also be in order!
