In your experiences, where are EK crew mostly sourced from?
Up until about a year ago the announcement didn't state the number of countries they came from, but listed individually which languages were spoken by the crew - the multinational aspect of the service was and is one of the marketing and selling points of the airline (and helps with recruitment!)
I think it's futile to ask where crew are "mostly" from - because as
JXTC states, they are from absolutely all over the world, even from countries where EK has no service to.
There is a bit of a skew towards UK, Australian and New Zealand (not surprising, given the UK-AU traffic EK wants to capture, as well as 14 flights daily to the UK), quite a few from across the whole of the EU - with recent recruitment efforts directed towards Hungary/Romania. New recruitment to replenish SE Asia staff, e.g. Thailand is starting (I think QR and EY have been recruiting heavily in the area too) now, but I am seeing a lot of Vietnamese and Chinese GR2s. Have also met a few Burmese staff in the air and ground. South America is a little underrepresented, but I have encountered, apart from the predominately Brazilian representatives, Colombia and Paraguay. Africa seems to be mainly Kenya, Ghana and South Africa. India is also a big one (for obvious reasons).
Plus, you can always look at the flag pins to see!
