1. If your chosen LH case, or cases are paid for before you arrive, I would make your pick-up upon arrival, and not departure.

One and one half hours is more than enough time to accomplish this, even for a traveler new to FRA. It will also allow you a little time to browse in the LH Worldshop for other purchases.

Waiting until your departure allows more risk into the purchase picture at the end of your trip. Your flight arrival can be late, you become delayed, risk of a strike, etc. There are many possibilities to consider, so why not make the effort upon arrival ?.

But coming into FRA, with your items pre-paid, all you must do is go over the FRA map, or pay the small token amount to have someone meet you from LH at the gate with your new luggage case. The LH staff can certainly escort you back to the LH Worldshop in short order for more buying, which I'm confident they would be happy to do !

Hi Swissaire:

Thank you so much for your helpful reply, it is really appreciated.

So then I will try to pick up my cases the first time I am in FRA, as it would give me another shot the second time in case something goes wrong the first time.

Regarding delivery at the gate, can it also be used for cases that are too big for carry on board and would need to be checked in (maybe the bag can then be gate checked)? Otherwise I understand I would have to collect my bags from the LH shop and make it to the LH check in desks at least 40 minutes before my next flight (i.e. that leaves 50 minutes from landing to finish with the LH shop). Worth a shot in your opinion, or would you suggest I just pick up a bag that can be carried on and get it gate delivered?

Also, do you have any experience checking luggage with LH half-way through a ticket, essentially when changing planes - is it something they would be expecting?

Thanks again!
