Flying IAD-VIE (solo) this Saturday on OS in J, first time in Austrian's new business class. Have seen many pictures online of seats but never actually flown in this type (Vantage staggered) of business class seat. It seems like the best seats for solo travelers would be one of the following (all are still available on my flight) - appreciate your thoughts and recommendations:
- 1G, bulkhead aisle, more foot space (how much more?) due to bulkhead but close to galleys (how bothersome?)
- One of the "throne" seats on the sides - but I've read these have tight foot space. How tight?
- Or I can go for one of the other aisle seats that are further away from the aisle (separated by a console, as opposed to the ones that are directly next to the aisle), i.e. 2/4/6/9D or 3/5/10G.
For a daytime flight I would've definitely chosen a throne seat, but for an overnight flight I'd like to be able to sleep, so foot space could be an issue there, although I'm not that big a guy (5'8, 150 lbs). Thoughts?
at 178cm i dont find the footwell of throne seats to be restrictive, at all. not for sleeping. prefer throne seat for added surfaces to lean on or put e.g. laptop on
