My HooToo TM04 came the other day and I've been doing some work.

I was able to get OpenVPN working in WISP mode by using this guide with a few changes. This is specific to to the PIA VPN provider but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to use elsewhere based on the guide and the referenced links if you have some fundamental knowledge of networking and can use google.

I can't tell you where all I deviated from the guide because after I got things working I tried to make some other changes and set up a second, non-openVPN WLAN and ended up messing up the interfaces really bad and it's basically bricked at the moment.

Basically what I want to have is two SSIDs for my clients, one that has full time personal VPN and the other that does not. I will connect to one or the other based on the type of stuff I'm doing (like if I'm doing actual work from my work laptop, I'm VPN'd into a customer site and would probably want the non-tunneled option so I'm not double VPN'd and so the customer sees me connecting from a hotel or wherever, not a private VPN exit)

So I'm waiting for my jtag cable to come in the mail so I can unbrick it and I also ordered a second router so I can have one that is mostly stable and one I can experiment with.
