I'm curious. If you are stopped by a GA and told to board during family boarding, what would your reaction be?
I asked because if you had stopped flying them, why would you be so concerned.
If I was stopped? I'd probably tell them that I didn't think it was fair to have to give up my boarding position when it's impossible that my minor child board in their position by themselves.
But I wouldn't raise a stink more than that and would board where they instructed me to. I suppose I could complain after that.
Here's the specific language regarding group boarding:
Yes. However, in order to maintain the integrity of the boarding process, we
ask that earlier boarding positions board with the later positions. For example, if a passenger is assigned position A16 and wants to board with a passenger assigned position A45, the passenger holding the A16 boarding pass
should board with the A45 passenger.
Notice that they'll ask you and the should language. They could strengthen that if they wanted to. Same thing about saving seats.
