Hi all,

Tomorrow I had previously booked from ZRH-LHR BA0709 (econ class); LHR-SEA BA049 (business class) (NB both flights were booked separately, not on same itinerary but same two people travelling together)

I wanted to arrive LHR as early as possible because I have some important mtgs in Central London to attend before making my way back to LHR for the long haul to SEA.

One hour ago I received an email saying that BA0709 from ZRH is now cancelled. BA rebooked me on BA0713 ZRH to LHR arriving at 13.10. This is too late as I will not be able to make my mtgs in Central London.

A couple questions please:

1) I called BA customer support, they said this is the best they could do as the earlier ZRH-LHR (or LCY) flights are fully booked. They said that I could try to fly on a partner airline, however, this can only be done at the airport and is not guaranteed. Is there a way I can re-book on a partner airline (at BA's cost of course) so I can get into London earlier? Happy to fly into either LHR or LCY but preference is LHR as I'm flying out of SEA later that afternoon and I'd prefer not to haul my luggage across London.

2) I know Swiss air isn't a OW partner but are there any potentials to re-book onto Swiss air to get in earlier?

3) Or perhaps flying on a partner making connections at CDG or AMS for example? Though this could complicate things if the flights are delayed/missed connections.

Overall this is very frustrating - can I get compensated with Avios miles for this hassle? I had everything planned out many months ago as tomorrow is quite an important day.
