Swindon is a short drive from the Great Western Railway museum, a magnet for kids, esp the boys! Peterborough is next to the East of England Showground for all those shows concerning country pursuits. Newcastle Metrocentre is on site at one of England's biggest out-of-town malls. Gosforth Park is on a horse racing circuit and its lounge is particularly good with strong food offerings and a 4 hour happy-hour. Cheshunt is next to a giant Tescos!- 'Nuff said!
