As to the OP, since he's traveling with his wife, he's really got nothing to lose. If they don't let him on with his baby, he can give his baby to his wife, get on board and save a seats, which is what he was going to do in the first place.
BTW, do you still fly WN? I seem to recall you had switched to another carrier.
