Have scoured the forum and the BA FAQs but can't seem to find an answer on this. I know that if physically checking in at the airport all pax need to be present, for obvious reasons, but does the same apply to dropping bags when already checked in online?

Am flying BA out of BRU next month with the OH and her folks. They will arrive at the airport together, and I will probably arrive separately as I will be coming straight from a meeting. We will check in online at T-24, and are intending to have two checked bags between the four of us.

It would seem logical that in such an instance only the pax in whose name the bags are being checked would be obliged to present themselves with ID at the bag drop. Therefore if my fiancee and one of her parents deposit the bags in their names, could I then join them in departures without having to be present myself at the bag drop desk?
