Found it adequately fast just as a lowly Silver. My requests were pretty straight forward so I guess they could do at once. Missing miles may take longer to retrieve info from AA. Hope you have kept the boarding passes.
Last time for missing miles on AA, I just followed the instructions on AM website:
Please send (1) a completed
missing mileage request form, (2) e-ticket itinerary receipts and (3) boarding passes (scanned pdf, or copies) via:

Did you provide this to them? If so, they might be processing already and just have to be patient. I don't remember exactly but it has taken me few weeks for those missing AA flight miles.
